One of my favorite albums EVAR!!!

Following up on the free mp3 tagging software, how about some free (and legal) music?

One of my favorite albums of all time is available as a free download from c|net, of all places. This is the critically lauded 1991 release from American Music Club called Everclear. IMHO, this was the best thing they ever did, though the rest of their catalog isn't too shabby either.

Now, I'll warn you, this isn't exactly the album you're going to want to put on first thing in the morning, unless you're nursing a hangover. This is a moody and sad record about breaking up and drying out. However, there's a lot of beauty in this album. Mark Eitzel can write a hell of a shattered man song without ever sounding maudlin or corny.

I've owned this on cassette and CD and now I'm giving it to you in the oh-so-hip mp3 format. Check it out and let me know what you think. And if you dig it, please check out some more American Music Club or Mark Eitzel albums. They're all worth hearing.
